Al-Madīnah, 8/4/1435 (Jan 2014)
During his class in the Prophet’s Mosque – Allāh’s peace and blessings be upon him – the Shaykh said in part of a response to an issue:
Brothers, refer back to the mashāʾikh (scholars), the senior scholars (al-mashāʾikh al-kibār), the senior scholars [like]:
- Our shaykh, His Eminence the Mufti (ʿAbd Al-Azīz Āl Al-Shaykh)
- Shaykh Ṣaliḥ Al-Fawzān
- The Noble Shaykh Ṣāliḥ Al-Luḥaydān
- The Noble Shaykh ʿAbd Al-Muḥsin Al-ʿAbbād Al-Badr
- The Noble Shaykh Zayd b. Hādī Al-Madkhalī
- The Noble Shaykh Rabīʿ b. Hādī Al-Madkhalī
- The Noble Shaykh, our shaykh ʿAlī b. Nāṣir Faqīhī
These are noble scholars, they are to be referred to and their knowledge is to be benefitted from. Present to them these types [of issues], they will direct you. As for rivalry and fighting amongst yourselves, or allowing some naive foolish minor to come to your lands and split your ranks, no matter where he comes from…
Someone mentioned to me that a certain person came to their lands where they were upon the right path, totally united, but this person came to them and split them into groups and parties. Be careful, this is a very serious and dangerous issue.
Convey these words of mine to those who you have left behind (in your lands). And I ask Allāh tabāraka wa taʿālā to benefit us by what we say and know – and we have only a little knowledge, rather we are almost bankrupt of knowledge, but we hope that Allāh makes us of those who follow the way (manhaj) of our noble scholars, who defend the Book of Allāh ʿazza wa jall from the distortions of the extremists, the pretence of the falsifiers and the misinterpretations of the ignorant.
And Allāh knows best. And may His blessings and peace be upon our Prophet Muḥammad, and upon his Family and Companions.
